Do you know what’s in your water? Simple answer is water is hydrogen and oxygen. That real answer is not so simple.
WATER WARNING ONE MORNING
One morning, the pressing question ‘what’s in your water’ came into my mind and stayed the whole time I filled kid water bottles for school. Why so persistent and strong that morning? It didn’t make sense.
I said to my husband that I wonder what is in our water and that we should look into water filters.
His answer (with a look at me like I was a little crazy): ‘Why? We live in Atlanta, it’s fine.”
My answer: Probably. However, I still want to look at water filters. (I’d research more that week.)
I didn’t have to research. The next day, the following appeared at top of a newsfeed.
THIS GOT MY ATTENTION‼️
⛔️NOTIFICATION #1
Pensacola, FL - Since we lived in Pensacola, FL before Atlanta, it got my attention.
“Study Finds Pensacola Has Nation’s Worst Water” (www.northescambia.com)
Pensacola, FL is where we lived for over 8 years. My youngest was born there.
It gets worse. In another day or two, another piece glared at me. This time it was Ohio, near where I grew up. This one had global effects.
⛔️NOTIFICATION #2
Ohio River. Still shocked at what came across my newsfeed about Pensacola’s water being among the worst in the nation….the following randomly appeared yet again, at top of one of my newsfeeds. It was significant—and global:
“The company has been sued hundreds of times for contamination both the environment and humankind. The chemical C8 is used to make the product Teflon, which can cause liver, prostate, and testicular cancer. Dupont was aware of this danger for a long time, but continued to use it in the manufacturing of products anyway.” (From GlobalResearch.ca)
**I grew up in Ohio. Not on the Ohio River, where the poison dumped into, but not far.
‼️"Because it's an extremely stable chemical, C8 does not biodegrade. Instead, it bioaccumulates, building up in people's blood over time if they continue to drink water or breathe air laced with the substance. Due to its ubiquitous use, the chemical can now be found in trace amounts in the bloodstream of more than 98 percent of Americans, and even in umbilical cord blood and breast milk, according to the Centers for Disease Control."
⛔️NOTIFICATION #3
In the next couple weeks, my husband asked me if I saw the article that came out about water reports in the U.S. Georgia didn’t come back as clear as I would have hoped.
It was time to buy a water filter, stronger than what is part of the refrigerator.
WHAT'S IN OUR WATER?
⚠️Pharmaceuticals have been found in trace amounts in some public water sources.
⚠️Agri-business industrial waste has been found in lakes and waterways.
⚠️Heavy metals.(such as lead. Flint, Michigan water crisis should serve as a warning)
⚠️Fluoride. While it may be is a natural occurring element, the fluoride in our drinking water isn’t as natural as one would wish.
Without question, it was to look further into the best water filters - beyond what is on our refrigerator or countertop.
EVERYWHERE?
At the close of this writing, it’s apparent how far reaching and widespread this problem is.
"PCBs have been found in bays, rivers, streams, sediment, soil and air throughout Washington state, with more than 600 suspected or confirmed contamination sites from Puget Sound to the Wenatchee River, Lake Spokane to Commencement Bay," he said.
The company faces lawsuits by at least eight West Coast cities raising similar claims.
What’s next?
Time to find water filters and/or purified water systems.
